Edge walkers occupy a thin space and are by definition a bit lonely. Most people inhabit the vast spaces on both sides of edges. But those of us called to the thresholds-the edges between-live in this thin space and recognize one another when we meet. The edges between biosystems are called ecotones. These thresholds usually contain the most biodiversity and therefore are the most resilient.

Spring is the season of Hope. We celebrate Naw Ruz, Ramadan, Passover, Easter, and the Vernal Equinox. This morning we will talk about finding equanimity in unsettling times through ancient stories and deepening personal practices.

Life is complicated, and sometimes confusing. When we try to oversimplify things by asking for a clear, definite answer, we lose the nuances and subtleties that often make the biggest differences. In the Western World, we are taught to think rationally, logically and in this binary fashion. Often, however, the answer to the question, “is it this or is it that?” is … yes.

While some of our friends are away camping this summer, we will reminisce about the best and worst of camp life. Did you go to camp? As an adult or as a child? What are some of your indelible memories? Why is camping such a significant aspect of American life? And most important of all, which are your favorite camp songs? Come worship and sing with us.
