Afternoon book discussion group “How to Be an Antiracist”

This afternoon Book Discussion Group began on Wed., August 18th at 3:30pm to discuss How to Be an Antiracist, a 2021 Book to Action selection. Our conversation focuses on the central themes of the book, including definitions and examples of antiracism and racism, and discusses how to move from reflection to meaningful action on issues of racial equity. Children’s Religious Education

Religious Education programming occurs in-person at Estancia Park nearby the church campus during the regular church service. All activities are outdoors and masks are required for all leaders and participants. Dropoff begins at 10:15 and pickup no later than noon. Ages: Pre-K through 7th-grade Nursery age children are welcome to attend the worship service in-person with their caregiver. Contact the Director of Religious Education at with any questions.

Worship Service: We Remember Them

We have lost a lot this year: loved ones, opportunities, and a sense of normalcy. But on this Sunday, Samhain, in many earth-based practices, we take a brief moment to reflect on those who have joined the ancestral realm and the legacy that they leave be-hind as we move forward into our next normal. Spooktacular Costume Parade and Trick or Treat

Halloween falls on a Sunday this year. What a great opportunity to celebrate with our church family! The Religious Education Committee would like to invite everyone to join us at Estancia Park after the service on October 31st for some Halloween fun. OCUUC Writing Club

Are you interested in writing an article, essays, poems, short stories for OCUUC? There is a new OCUUC Writing Club that is open to all members and friends of OCUUC who are interested in writing written reflections about the monthly themes we use in worship (e.g. Beloved Community, Commitment, Play, Imagination, Curiosity, etc.). The group will gather once a month to go over the themes, discuss how we might write about them, share our writing, and be given support in our writing.
