The Artists and Makers UUnite are on hiatus for the Summer but will gather again on September 26th. The May meeting has been cancelled.
Artists and Makers UUnite is an OCUUC small group established in 2019. During creative sessions held on the fourth Saturday of each month from 10 a to noon in the community room, a group of painters, quilters, sketchers, crafters and other creative types work on individual or group projects. Participants do not have to be working artists. All are welcome, including OCUUC friends and new members.
We also share news about workshops, exhibitions, new materials or techniques. We create greeting cards with original art for use by our OCUUC caring committee to send out to congregants in need of outreach. We've also created bracelets for congregants to wear showing their support for our Ukrainian community.
An ongoing project is curating art exhibitions in the administration building lobby, featuring art created OCUUC members and friends. Recent group exhibition themes have been "The Art of Travel," "Art & Activism."" Currently our solo exhibition features acrylic paintings by Elizabeth Kilchoer. A new exhibition will be in conjunction with the Wild & Scenic Film Festival in May 2026.
