Generosity
I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who contributed to OCUUC’s Adopt-A-Family program through Share Ourselves over the holiday season. Whether you shopped, contributed, or helped wrap gifts, you were part of supporting our family of ten with gifts that will support them throughout the year. The biggest shout out goes to Judith Stamper who chose our family and worked in the collection facility at the Orange County Fairgrounds on the weekend before Christmas. The Adopt-A-Family program has…

Adopt A Family Outreach
I want to thank you all for supporting Share Ourselves! My husband and I helped pack up Thanksgiving donations that will go out to over 700 families that are experiencing food insecurities this season. It was amazing to see people of all ages supporting our community and seeing the donations from OCUUC going into the bags. While we were at the food bank, it was shared that one out of three families in Orange County are living at or below…
Presence
As many of you know, I was up last week helping celebrate my sister’s 70th birthday. A milestone for sure! When I asked her what she would like for her big birthday, she said: “Just your presence.” It got me thinking about how many people in my life are my “present;” that is, a gift to me. I thought of my twin and her husband, my niece, my dogs, my friends, my colleagues, and, of course, my wonderful congregation. But…

My Thanksgiving Day dinner may or may not happen on a United Airlines flight returning from Buenos Aires – so not expecting any memorable Thanksgiving feast. But there will be some amazing memories (good or bad) from this adventure. And I’ll be able to say that I’ve visited all 7 continents…
