Our Sanctuary Construction Committee is looking forward to our Zoom meeting this Thursday with our architect David Keitel. He will be presenting revised concepts for the sanctuary that address the need to meet code requirements that are in place because the sprinklered sanctuary structure must be a certain distance from existing campus structures that do not have sprinklers. The revised concepts will also reflect some changes needed to be made due to the increase in building materials due to COVID. We look forward to sharing these revised plans to you in the near future.
I'm also happy to share with you plans for a special wine and cheese event in the courtyard on Saturday, July 17th showcasing the sculpture collection bestowed to OCUUC by longtime artist member Issa Graves. Issa and her husband Bob were active members of OCUUC. The stewards and Dave Carlson are overseeing the project. Fifty percent of the income from the sculptures will go to the endowment with 50 percent to the sanctuary fund. Dave can be reached at email@example.com for more information. Save the date and look for more details in the July REACH and the weekly BLAST.
Craig Spery is the chair of the sanctuary planning and construction committee, a subgroup of the Property Use Group (PUG).
