The OCUUC Religious Education Program invites you to join us for our upcoming events for the month of January!
The RE classes will be welcoming in the new year on January 4th as the elementary and middle school class will combine together to get their creativity on! There will be loads of supplies for the children to create their own Picasso self portrait! This will be a fun time to let our creativity run wild! Snacks and group games will also be a part of this week’s fun lesson!
January 11th's RE middle School class’s lesson topic will be on Positive Attitudes. The RE Middle School class will be starting back up on January 11th!!
Children ages 4th grade-8th grade will be working on a curriculum called "what do you stand for" by Barbra Lewis with our own UU spin on it as well to customize it for our amazing kiddos. This curriculum will explore character building as well as including our UU values by including hands-on craft/ science projects, interactive games, and much more!
January 11th lesson topic for the RE Elementary class will be on the National day of German Apples. The RE Elementary class will be taking a trip around the world as we explore the national holidays that take place each Sunday.
On January 11th, we will learn the purpose of the appreciation of the farmers in Germany and why they have a great celebration of Apples. Our activities for this lesson will be tasting apples, taking a moment to appreciate our local farmers and those who farm across the world to provide goods for our friends and families, creating a yummy snack, and of course group games!
