Happy October RE friends!
We have some fun and exciting things happening this fall in the RE classes as this Friday is the start of Family camp at De Benneville Pines camp. This is extra exciting as we were not able to attend last year due to the unfortunate fires. I want to give a special Thanks to Maria Goode for all her planning with the Camp as well as a very grateful Thank you to the congregants who are also helping to provide fun entertainment and engaging experiences for others. With the family camp going on at De Benneville, please note there will be no RE classes Sunday October 5th.
The 4-6th grades are continuing their OWL Program as we have heard nothing but good reports from the children and their families! The children are in their 3rd week of class as they have some amazing teachers who make the lessons very fun while learning! The next OWL class will continue on October 12th as there will be no RE classes this coming Sunday, October 5th.
We also invite our younger children from infant - kindergarten to attend the nursery. As we have two very attentive and caring teachers available, the children also have the option to participate in different story times, themed activities, free play, and snack time each Sunday. We are so excited to provide great childcare for you and your families and hope to see you soon!
Some upcoming RE Events:
Pistachio Bird class project October 12th.
The Elementary class will be participating in a fun class project as we will have the great artistic assistance of Linda Spery as we paint pistachio shells (shells are empty and cleaned) into birds and glue them to our OCUUC family tree to create a wonderful and colorful masterpiece!
Veterinarian Thank you cards November 9th.
UU Animal Ministry and the RE classes are teaming up to create Thank You cards for the veterinarians who do so much for our pets and families! As we will be accompanied by the amazing Maureen as we create beautiful and encouraging ways to give back to veterinarians!
