Unfortunately, I learned at the very end of October that the UUA (Unitarian Universalist Association) designated that month as Pastor Appreciation Month. I did encourage the congregation to express to Rev. Sian Wiltshire how very much she means to each of us - but I did feel that we somewhat missed the boat!
But November is the month of Thanksgiving. What better time than to express our gratitude for our wonderful staff at OCUUC?? We have a fabulous Administrator/Bookkeeper, Sarah Jones, who keeps OCUUC running and wears so many hats that her neck must be tired. And we’re so proud of our two previous choir members who have stepped up as Music Co-Directors and continue to expand ways in which everyone can participate in music at OCUUC. Kudos to you both! Danielle Lewis, our Religious Educator Director, has implemented the OWL (Our Whole Lives) program and continues to offer a creative curriculum from which the children benefit. And of course, we are all grateful for Rev. Sian. I can’t imagine OCUUC without her – we certainly wouldn’t have our new sanctuary! She is the driving force behind so many positive changes.
So please see November as the month to fill your cup with gratitude and express your thankfulness to those who serve all of us at OCUUC.
