Excitement is building as several important events will be occurring in May. The Wild & Scenic Film Festival Committee, led by Peggy Hepler, is pulling together all the details to create a wonderful event on Saturday, May 16th. Because we’re unable at this time to black-out the sanctuary, the movies will be shown in Daniels Hall but we’ll be hosting local organizations concerned about the environment to share information and recruit volunteers. Our purpose is to inspire activism! So be sure to get your tickets soon, as seating is limited.
And Linda Spery is busy getting an environmental art presentation ready for a reception on May 15th. These art works are a wonderful complement to the Film Festival and will be available for viewing in the Administration’s lobby throughout the summer.
And then Saturday, May 30th is the Spring Auction, so be sure to come and purchase fun events offered over the coming months.
Beyond all this, numerous Board Members are preparing for our Annual Congregational Meeting which will be held after Sunday service on June 14th. Jamie Pendarvis, our VP of Finance, is putting the final touches on our 2026-27 budget; Judith Stamper, VP of Programs, is collecting annual reports from all the various programs; and our Nominators are finishing up their work in order to present a slate of officers to the congregation. If you would like to participate in our Annual Meeting, but have not yet become a Member, now would be the time to do it. Anyone becoming a member prior to May 14th is able to vote on June 14th.
And on a personal note, I will miss some of these activities as I am traveling to Northern Italy from May 15th through the end of month. I’m looking forward to cooking classes, wine tastings, and extraordinary meals since the focus of this trip is food and beverage. Just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping all the airlines can find enough gas to get me there and back!
