Good News! We’ve been somewhat stuck in limbo waiting to get an Occupancy Permit from the City of Costa Mesa, but we’ve just been informed that the city inspector is prepared to sign off on a temporary permit because the building is completely safe and ready for occupancy. There will be further discussions between the city and the contractor about the southernmost driveway and potential drainage problems but this issue will hopefully be resolved in the coming month.

So onward with our Building Dedication scheduled for September 6th and the Open House scheduled for September 7th. The Building Dedication will be a more formal affair with representatives from the UUA and local city leaders and politicians attending. If you’re planning to attend this event, please do RSVP at dedication@ocuuc.org so that we plan for enough people at the reception.

The Open House on Sunday, September 7th will be a welcoming service by Rev. Sian and we certainly hope to see many old friends, current members and neighbors there. Our Vice President of Programs, Katherine Martin, is organizing a program/activity fair following the service to highlight all that is happening at OCUUC, and hopefully new folks will choose to get involved. Although RSVPs for the Open House are not imperative, it would be helpful to know who is planning to attend, so please send a note to openhouse@ocuuc.org.

Invitations will be going out via email in the coming week and we certainly hope to see you at one of the events. It’s a CELEBRATION!!
