Another busy month has come and gone – but certainly the highlight was the Ordination of Wendy Diane Karn. OCUUC had been so fortunate to have Wendy as our Intern for two years and then we had to say good-bye to her. But after completing all her seminary duties, we were so pleased to have her return so that our congregation could officially ordain her into the UU ministry. It was a joyous occasion on September 26th! I wish to express my gratitude to the many hard-working folks at OCUUC who worked diligently to create a lovely ceremony and reception for Reverend Wendy.
And in the coming month of October, we look forward to our Leadership Retreat. Roughly 45 members of our congregation who serve in a leadership capacity have been invited to attend the retreat on Saturday, October 17th where we will explore together how to nurture the feeling of belonging - something I believe we all look for in our lives. We hope that any visitor to our church quickly comes to feel that they belong.
