By now I'm sure you've heard that I have submitted my resignation to the Board, and my last day will be our ingathering Water Communion service on September 10. I gave the church a long notice so the transition can be as smooth as possible. The reason I'm resigning is that I am feeling led to do more work in the adoption space -- with my podcast, speaking opportunities, and parent coaching. It was a difficult decision for me since I have absolutely no com-plaints about my OCUUC job, and I will miss you all very much. But I am sure you will find some-one fabulous that is fresh and has a diverse array of talents and repertoire at their finger-tips. I have no doubt that the church will continue to thrive with whomever you choose as your new music director. You are a music-loving, exuberant congregation that feels deeply through music. Whoever comes after me will be delighted with the talent and musical vitality at OCUUC.
We are wrapping up our choir season, and June 11 will be Orange Coast Choir's last Sunday to sing until September 10. We will have about 2 months off from Thursday night rehearsals, and we will resume on August 24.
In the meantime, we will have openings for solos, duets, and small groups of vocalists and instrumentalists throughout the summer. Please let me know if you're interested in preparing something for summer worship.
