We Are Blessed

We Are Blessed

This summer I am having a different kind of experience than any previous summer trip or vacation. I am working as a chaplain intern at one of our local hospitals. My respect for our health care professionals has been expanded beyond bounds. Day and night, we have people trained and on-duty in our hospitals to take care of our bodies when illness or accident strike. Chaplains and Spiritual Care volunteers tend to our deeper selves during these times of duress. I have seen many, many people give so deeply of themselves and their time to alleviate suffering of body and mind. These people care.

At the end of each 40 hour week filled with classes and patients, I spend Sunday "back home" at OCUUC. Our church home is bustling with life and vitality. What a gift to experience that energy each Sunday, and all week long at our various activities and meetings! Living each day in deep gratitude and appreciation has been the result of my summer at the hospital. In a few short weeks I will return to my regular hours at OCUUC to begin our fall programs and classes for children, youth and families. I look forward to each beautiful day together.

In the Spirit of Life & Love~~
