We’d Love to Hear Your Song!

We’d Love to Hear Your Song!

Every month, we share a bit about the music in our worship or something about our music programs. This month, we’d like to turn the microphone around. Instead of us telling you about music, we’d love for you to tell us.

Tell us your favorite. Is there a hymn that makes you think, ‘Oh good, I love this one!’ when the slide comes up? A choir anthem that moved you? A song shared by a soloist, a small group, or the Drummers and Strummers that stayed with you all week? Maybe there’s a song you’d love to hear again, or one you’ve been missing and thinking, “It’s been a long time since we sang that one!” Tell us, and tell us what it is about that song that touches you. Is it a memory, the words, the melody, or the people you sang it with? We’ll keep your favorite songs in mind as we plan future worship services.

Share something new. Is there a song we’ve never sung here that you’d love to bring to OCUUC? Maybe you heard it at another congregation, at a concert, or on the radio, and it stayed with you. We’re always open to new ideas, and some of our favorite discoveries have come from members of our community.

Ask us about our music. Wondering where a hymn came from, how we choose the music for a service, or how to join one of our music groups? Send us your questions. We may answer some of them in future blogs.

Drop Us a Note. Just send a quick email to MusicDirector@ocuuc.org with the subject line “My thoughts for our music program.” Copy and fill in whichever lines you like.

  • My favorite song: ______. Why: ______ .
  • A new song I’d love to hear: ______. Why: ______ .
  • My question about our music or music programs: ______ .

With your permission, we’ll share some favorites (and the stories behind them) in upcoming posts.

Music is something we make together, and we can’t wait to hear from you!
