Don't miss Orange Coast Choir's Annual Spring Concert - Saturday, May 30 at 7pm in Daniels Hall.  By popular demand, this year's event will feature more classical music than usual.  The choir will sing mass movements by a variety of composers, from the Renaissance to contemporary eras.
You will hear:

  • the gorgeous Sanctus from Faure’s Requiem
  • Vivaldi’s glorious first movement from his Gloria
  • the lush Agnus Dei by Samuel Barber (adapted by the composer from his Adagio for Strings)
  • early Renaissance polyphony in Dufay’s Gloria
  • a Jazz Kyrie from 2007 by Valerie Showers Crescenz
  • and several more mass movements—some from composers you will recognize, and some surprising gems from composers you’ve probably never heard of before

$10 suggested donation will be gratefully accepted at the door.  This is a great opportunity to bring friends and family to OCUUC!

Roy Zimmerman: The Faucet's on Fire!

Thursday, July 23rd at 7pm

What can one person do about climate change, torture, racism, gun violence, fracking, Congressional ineptitude, ignorance, war and greed?  Write funny songs, says Roy Zimmerman.  "The Faucet's on Fire!" is ninety minutes of Zimmerman's hilarious, rhyme-intensive original songs.  His songs have been heard on HBO and Showtime.  He's shared stages with Bill Maher, Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, John Oliver, Kate Clinton and George Carlin.  He's been profiled on NPR's "All Things Considered," and he's a featured blogger for the Huffington Post.
